Relaxing After Waxing
You will get the best waxing results by waxing regularly. Exfoliating and moisturizing is key to healthy skin and ingrown hair prevention. After a wax service please allow your skin to rest for at least 24 hours. Avoid touching the area that has just been waxed (especially the face) to help prevent blemishes, bumps and irritations. With regular waxing, hairs will become thinner and more sparse.
Apply after-wax skin care products daily for at least one week after your service to help prevent bumps, reduce irritations and calm the skin. Continued daily use between wax services can help keep your skin happy and healthy.
For Arms, Back, Bikini & Legs, gently exfoliate the skin starting 7 days after a wax service, 1-3 times a week.
Exfoliating Gloves can be great for the body, from the neck down. They are machine washable (hang dry), and great to replace seasonally if used regularly. Can be used on the skin wet or dry, depending on how deep of an exfoliation you are looking for (wet = more & dry = less).
Epsom salt baths, starting at least 3 days after a wax, can help detoxify the skin.
Avoid picking, pinching, extracting or tweezing ingrown hairs between services.
After a workout session, shower and/or change into clean dry and breathable clothes to help prevent irritations caused by friction, dampness and bacteria/sweat.
Try not to stress too much about ingrowns. Think positive thoughts about your skin with the knowledge that our skin wants to heal. We have so many hair follicles and sometimes ingrowns can just happen. But following some of these after-wax skin care tips, and creating a regular routine with wax services and good product care, can help your skin feel and look its best.
And remember - sometimes doing less, is more healing.
